Large White Catio in Ridgefield, WA
Number of cats: 3: Sage, Gryff, and Max.
Features: Honeycomb hexagon kitty wall, Tall cat climbing wall, Cat netting, Floor-to-ceiling scratching posts, Hammock, and more!
We started by enclosing an existing covered patio and transformed it into a spacious and functional catio. Later, we expanded it with an extension packed with enrichment and handmade accessories designed to keep the cats entertained and engaged. The entire catio is painted to match the house trim, seamlessly blending into the home's aesthetic. We used 2"x2" galvanized wire mesh, adding trim for a polished and refined look.
The patio and the extension are connected by a long cat tunnel that wraps around the structures, providing additional lookout areas and space for exploration. A clear polycarbonate roof allows ample sunlight to filter through, creating a warm and inviting environment for the cats. We used interlocking tiles on the floor, offering a soft, paw-friendly surface that is easy to clean and maintain.
What Makes This Catio Special:
We pushed our creativity to the next level by designing and crafting unique, custom-made accessories to maximize enrichment and fun. The honeycomb hexagon kitty wall serves as a maze with multiple entry points and covered fronts, providing both a playful challenge and cozy perches for lounging. The stacked box kitty tower functions as an interactive playground, allowing the cats to explore, hide, and interact with each other through multiple exit and entry points.
To enhance the cats' climbing experience, we incorporated additional ramps and walls wrapped in synthetic manila rope, providing ample scratching surfaces. Cozy curved beds were also added for ultimate relaxation and nap time.
Building this catio was an incredibly enjoyable experience, allowing us to innovate and bring our client's vision to life while ensuring their feline friends have a stimulating and safe outdoor space to enjoy.
